The successful high bidder should contact Cali Auto Brokers by telephone within 24 hours or the next business day after the auction has ended to make arrangements to complete the transaction. Brakes have been serviced all gauges lights and other systems all worked properly when tested. All major systems are in proper operating condition - temperatures / pressures / shift points etc. As mentioned we drive and enjoy our cars and in the process give them expert care and use. The Fluid Coupling has less power loss and a firmer shift sequence- a Torque Converter has more "give" and a higher Stall Speed resulting in a softer power delivery. Also not widely known early cars (pre 1968) have a Fluid Coupling versus a Torque Converter in the transmission.
The comparison is clear once made it is evident.

W113 Mercedes-Benz cars have a legendary status: in our opinion a 230SL has a bit more "snap + crackle" for a several very good reasons: it is the only engine in the series with a "tuned header" as well as a hotter cam- the later cars were softened up with cast iron manifolds and milder cams. The car is genuinely quick and certainly holds true to it's original Rally heritage (see internet).We have completely enjoyed driving the car both in it's "Sound Look + Feel" as well as the constant public comment. The engine was properly tuned by a Factory Trained Mercedes-Benz Technician and many other adjustments and operations were performed.
